मनोजवं मारुततुल्यवेगं जितेन्द्रियं बुद्धिमतां वरिष्ठम्। वातात्मजं वानरयूथमुख्यं श्रीरामदूतं शरणं प्रपद्ये॥

manojavaṃ māruta-tulya-vegaṃ jitendriyaṃ buddhimatāṃ variṣṭham | vātātmajaṃ vānara-yūtha-mukhyaṃ śrī-rāma-dūtaṃ śaraṇaṃ prapadye ||

Plain meaningSwift as thought, equal to the wind in speed, master of the senses, foremost of the wise, son of the wind, chief of his company, messenger of Rama: to him I turn.

How to recite

  1. Sit upright with the chest open and the shoulders down.
  2. Chant the verse once at an even, unhurried pace.
  3. Repeat up to three times if it feels steadying.
  4. Sit still for a minute before standing.

  • Courage here means steadiness, not force.
