Information stored on your device
When you complete a breathing session, a meditation sitting, a japa round or a sadhana sequence, Shoonyaka stores the practice name, type, date, duration, repetition count where relevant, and a random session identifier in your browser’s local storage. This creates your session count, mindful minutes and streak. This data is not sent to Shoonyaka’s server by the application.
You can clear it using “Clear my history” on the home page, by clearing site data in your browser, or by uninstalling the web app.
Practice links and query parameters
The today’s practice page accepts two optional parameters in the address, need and from. They are read in your browser and used only to highlight a link that already exists on that page. They are not stored, logged by the application, transmitted anywhere or used to build a profile.
Only the fixed practice keywords listed on that page are recognised. Never place personal information of any kind — a name, birth details, health details or an identifier — into a Shoonyaka link.
Offline storage
A service worker may cache page files, scripts, styles and images on your device so previously loaded parts of Shoonyaka can work offline. You can remove these through your browser’s site-data controls.
Accounts, analytics and advertising
The current Shoonyaka service has no user accounts, advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If this changes, this policy will be updated before those features are introduced.
Server and hosting logs
Like most websites, the hosting and network providers that deliver Shoonyaka may process standard technical logs such as IP address, request time, requested URL, device or browser information and security events. These providers process data under their own policies and retention practices.
Third-party resources and links
Shoonyaka loads font files from Google Fonts. Your browser may connect to Google and share ordinary request information such as IP address and browser headers. External links—including WanderPlan and Jeevanii—lead to separate services governed by their own privacy terms.
Separation from Jeevanii
Jeevanii is an independent Jyotish reading project run by the same author on separate hosting and a separate codebase. Jeevanii may link visitors to Shoonyaka for a practice. The two services share no accounts, no databases and no user data. No birth details, chart data or reading content is sent to Shoonyaka, and Shoonyaka neither needs nor accepts it.
If you email Shoonyaka, your email provider and ours process your address, message and attachments. The message may be retained as needed to respond, keep records or meet legal obligations. Please do not send sensitive health or identity information.
Children
Shoonyaka is not directed to children under 13. Minors should use unfamiliar breathing practices only with appropriate adult and qualified guidance.
Changes and contact
This policy may change as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised effective date. Questions can be sent to upendrachokka@gmail.com.
