What this mantra is
A plain reading: reverence to Ganapati, the remover of obstacles. Used as a way of marking a clear beginning.
How to practise
- Chant this before study, work or a longer sadhana.
- Keep one repetition to one comfortable exhale.
- Nine or twenty-seven repetitions is a common, unhurried opening.
- Pause briefly before moving into the next practice.
Notes
- Useful as the first step of a daily sequence.
- Pairs naturally with Nadi Shodhana before focused work.
- No mantra removes practical obstacles on its own; treat it as a way of settling attention before effort.
Practise gently
Shoonyaka offers educational wellbeing guidance, not medical advice or treatment. Practise seated or lying safely, never while driving, in water, or operating equipment. Stop immediately and return to natural breathing if you feel dizzy, faint, breathless, numb, panicked, painful, or unwell. If you are pregnant, under 18, have a heart, blood-pressure, neurological or respiratory condition, or are recovering from illness or surgery, seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional before breath retention or unfamiliar breathwork.
